An Interview with Nate St. Pierre of ItStartsWith.Us

Next year I will ___________________________________.

That started it all?  A simple fill-in-the-blank on a business development conference.

What he wrote there has changed his life and the lives of many others.  He has rallied an amazing following on his website ItStartsWith.Us from its first beginnings as a blog to a whole movement with over 550 members of his covert A-Team (with thousands on the wait list), a partnership with 20SomethingBloggers, and soon to be corporate partners.

I had the great privilege of being introduced to Nate by Jenny of Life After College and I’m amazed at what he’s done in seven months.

When I write about sustainable businesses creating meaningful change in the world ItStartsWith.Us is a prime example.

Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

- Margaret Mead

Nate has far more than a small group of thoughtful committed citizens, he has the lever of a dedicated and spreading web community to move the world.

I had the chance to interview Nate last night.  Hearing him speak of ItStartsWith.Us is inspirational, he is filled with passion that keeps him up till 3am (after working all day and taking care of his family) keeping the lights on for this amazing website.

Here is the interview.

Amazing take away points.

What ever you do, just give a little.

15 minutes times 20,000 individuals is 5,000 hours of community service a week.

Give back where you are, where you live.

Check out ItStartsWith.Us, join the A-Team and take into consideration the impact that you can have in 15 minutes on the world of those around you.

  • Carl, thanks for the chat last night - it was a lot of fun, and I'm excited to see where you take Drop of Change in the near future as well!
